Glossary
Opp. tier
A strength band per stored map, so a rate can be read in the context of who it came against.
A 65% map win rate means something different at a top-tier event than in a regional qualifier. Opponent tier is the strength band stored alongside a map so that context is visible rather than assumed.
Tiers describe events, not opponents
ClutchIQ's slate carries S, A, and B tiers, and the home page shows those by default. The tier attached to a stored map comes from the event it was played at, not from a live ranking of the opposing team. Treat it as a proxy for the level of the field.
How to use it
- Check the tier band when a rate looks unusually high for a team you know.
- Filter to the recent window before drawing a conclusion — tier alone is not a filter.
- Combine it with venue: an online rate against a weak field is the least transferable number on the page.
Questions
- Does opponent tier adjust the hit rate?
- No. Nothing is re-weighted or normalised. The tier is displayed as context so you can judge whether a rate was built against a relevant level of opposition.
- Why is the tier blank on some rows?
- Because the stored map came from an event that has no tier assigned. Blank is shown as blank rather than guessed.
